Macau Tower (澳门塔)
338m observation tower with the world's highest commercial bungy jump
Overview
Macau Tower stands 338 meters tall, making it one of the tallest structures in the territory. The observation deck sits at 223 meters, offering 360-degree views across the Macau Peninsula, Taipa, Coloane, and across the Pearl River Delta to Hengqin and parts of Zhuhai. On exceptionally clear days you can glimpse Lantau Island in Hong Kong. The tower's claim to fame for thrill-seekers is the AJ Hackett bungy jump from the outer rim at 233 meters — certified by Guinness World Records as the world's highest commercial bungy jump from a building. I've visited four times; the sunset view from the observation lounge never gets old, and watching bungy jumpers step off the platform is entertainment in itself.

Pro Tips
- Best time to visit: Arrive 30 minutes before sunset to see the city in daylight, golden hour, and illuminated at night all in one visit.
- Bungy booking: Reserve online in advance for discounts and guaranteed time slots; walk-in availability is limited especially on weekends.
- Weather: Fog and low cloud can completely obscure views — check the live webcam on the Macau Tower website before heading over.
- Dining: The 360° Café on Level 60 rotates slowly and serves international buffets (reservations recommended for dinner).
- Photo tip: The outdoor observation area on Level 61 has glass floor panels that make dramatic photos looking straight down.
